Using pigment mixed with either oil or water/gum arabic and honey, each expressive painting is an echo of something primal and out of time from a quest. There is a story with each piece or series.

Paintings from the pines
Research funded by the Edward James Foundation. Paintings from West Dean Estate, completed in 2026. Inspired by the pink painted deer-skull found placed on a pine-branch near Colworth (now clear-felled). The deer symbolises the strength of intuition, a reminder to trust your senses. Pine is associated with eternal life and resilience, it has an uplifting sweetness that resonates.

Landmarks from transformative journeys
These works emerged in studio after enquiry walks in nature, they echo the place and perception of multi-dimensional experiences. Painted in winter, spring, then summer, each a connection to the energies of the season, reminders to stand humbly in the power of place, to receive deeply, and to release it all.
